FAB Make-up that we love!

So Joyful and I would like to take a minute to give you some reviews on a couple of make up products we recently purchased. The first is:

 

 L'Oreal Extra Intense Black Liquid Liner Pencil

It's basically a gel/liquid liner in pencil form that just glides on so smooth, and stays put! It's pretty intense so if you want your eyes to pop for a cheap price we both recommend this. You can use it to line and even smudge it for those times you want a smokey eye. Joyful and I both have this in Black and it's around 6-8 bucks at any drugstore.

MAC Select sheer loose powder

Your skin looks and feels virtually naked. This ultra fine translucent powder is great for the skin if you want a matte finish but leaves a bit of your natural glow intact. You can also use it to set your foundation and it's really light, as I mentioned earlier, so you won't feel or looked so caked on. It's great for absorbing oil also, but if you're looking for something with more coverage this probably wouldn't be for you. I am wearing it below in NW 35.

Men of Style: Pharrell Williams

We always rep the ladies but what about the men? That's why we're bringing you "Men of Style."  You can't deny a man with good fashion sense, that's why our first feature is Pharrell Williams. Voted the "Best Dressed Man in the World" in 2005 by Esquire magazine, he's a perfect start to our new segment. He's even been quoted to say "Balenciaga's dope, you can never go wrong with one of his bags." Ummm...I think I found my style soul-mate. Those bags are amazing! I really dig his style and mentality on fashion. It's a mixture of high end meets skater/hip-hop. His laid back style isn't so "look-at me" as sometimes it may have seemed; he has gone on to say that it's all "A sense of artistic expression. It doesn't have to be loud, bright, it just has to be you. A lot of people can afford any threads they want, but if it doesn't have to do with who they are, it looks ridiculous." A thought I can most definitely appreciate. With so many trends shooting outta left field, people just gravitate to the ones that are popular at the time. Which IS a big mistake because everyone's body type or whatever is different so it might not have the same effect as it does on an individual. (But anyways back to my man Pharrell.)

You may know him for his part in his band NERD, but that's not all his hands are full with. He co-designs with Japanese designer Nigo, who, (if you didn't know) is also the founder of A Bathing Ape (BAPE) which is big in the hip-hop scene. Nigo and Pharrell's line of street wear, Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream, mixes hip-hip, skate and sci-fi styles (The singer is an avid fan of Star Trek which inspires his label name, using the Vulcan state to signify it). The lines consist of T-shirts, polos, sweatshirts, knits, denim, suits and shirts; outerwear in leather, down, cotton, and technical fabrics; hats, sneakers, underwear, socks and accessories.  Check out his line at http://bbcicecream.com/store/bbc_index.html. In an interview for Instyle he talks about what inspired his looks: "It's basically everything I ever wanted as a kid but couldn't afford--and if I could of afforded it, no one was making it." The line is all made in Japan using high quality fabrics.

Williams is also known to love Louis Vuitton so it was no surprise that he was asked along with Nigo, to work on a jewelry line for them. The collection  showcases his love of beautiful settings with gorgeous stones, comprising women's styles, using gold, diamonds, sapphires and rubies. Even creating a new LV logo for the line.

With all his mad creativity jumping from music to fashion what else could he even add to his list? Two words: Bionic Yarn. The producer/singer/ fashion mogul is going green! Downsizing his assembly of not-so-earth friendly luxury cars the next progression was only natural: Bionic Yarn is an organic, environmentally sustainable fabric line made of recycled plastic bottles. "The yarn is so soft you can't even tell there's plastic in it," says Williams. His goal would be to incorporate it into his clothing line. This fashion savvy individual dances to the beat of his own drum (sometimes literally haha he drums for NERD as well...) and that's why we love him here at EternallyFixated :)

I was surfing the web the other day and I came across a couple of photos of Rihanna running around town. I thought her outfit was so adorable! Its very simple but yet, chic! I love this style because she wore basic staple items and accessorized with items that stand out! I can't emphasize enough about how much accessories can help your outfit!! I especially love love love her Christian Louboutin fringe heels. Rihanna def. has one of the hottest styles in Hollywood!

We have most def. been slacking on mens fashion, so we decided that we need to give shout outs to some FAB menswear designers. Introducing Nicholas Kunz. She is a menswear designer who's label is called Nicholas K. Her Fall 2009 collection is the perfect example of rugged but yet gentle masculinity.This casual approach is HOT HOT HOT. Her collection consists of more earth-toned outerwear with a hint of feminine nature. I love love love this look for men. It is sophisticated, classy, and veryyyyy sexyyy!!! DJ AM Found Dead

I am sad to report that DJ AM(Adam Micheal Goldstein) was found dead in his New York apartment today. He was 36 years old. Reasons why he passed have not been released . Stars took to their twitter today to pay respect for the DJ

@parishilton Adam and I were friends since I was 15. He had a heart of gold and was one of the kindest, funniest and most talented men I have ever met.

Jay Sean is Taking the States by Storm

Kamaljit Singh Jhooti aka "Jay Sean" is making his grand debut in the United States. The British pop singer/songwriter from England is best known for his UK hits "Stolen", "Eyes On You", "Dance on You"and "Ride it". He has released two albums in the UK, Me Against Myself and My Own Way.

Now signed with Lil Wayne's label Cash Money Records Jay Sean is blowing up the charts with his new single "Down". This week alone the singer/songwriter has scored tremendous airplay gain of his single, and is #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. I love his song "Down" and constantly have it on replay! For some people it really is a love game when it comes to Lady Gaga. But whether you love her or love to hate her there's no denying she's anything short of boring. Known for her catchy beats, outlandish fashion sense, and carefree attitude, she's anything but another cookie-cutter blonde. From her spin on her signature bathing suit attire, to various tights with sky-high heels, many people have dubbed her look a 'trainwreck' but don't expect her to care. I think her look suits her and she has the flair to rock it! (Hey, safe doesn't get you noticed!) But the lady wasn't always what you see today. Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, her quest for individuality led her to dye her hair bleach blonde after an interviewer mistook her for Amy Winehouse. She told PEOPLE: "Amy is badass, but I want to be known for my own look." In our ever imitating, emulating society, I have to give her props on wanting to stand out (which we all know she does). Her "Don't give a ****" attitude to fashion even caused her to get a citation by Chicago cops. She told PEOPLE while out wearing hotpants a cop said, "You look totally inappropriate. There are children here." Gaga simply replied. "It's fashion." Gotta love a girl that knows what she likes and doesn't apologize for it.

Can't lie the girl is talented too. Inspired by '70s glamour and decadence, she designs most of her outfits and has even written music for Akon, Britney Spears and New Kids on the Block. Lately all I've been listening to is her music. How can anyone help themselves, infectious beats instilled in songs like Starstruck, Just dance, and of course Lovegame lands her album The Fame number one internationally. Beso.....Vegas Style

The o so adorable Eva Longoria Parker (aka Trina's twin) is expanding her restaurant business and bringing Beso to Vegas. Beso is a Latin style Steakhouse cuisine that offers a contemporary dinner menu, and is currently located in Los Angeles, California.

Eva explains her excitement about the opening of her restaurant to PEOPLE mag, she explains"Vegas has the most energy in the world. It's a foodie city, which is great for us because of our menu. Everything we offer is pretty unique. Nobody in Vegas has anything similar." (Longoria-Parker) Eva then goes on to explain the difference between the two restaurant locations she says, "There will be different specials and drinks – Vegas style," she says. "Also upstairs we'll have a lounge called Eve."(Longoria-Parker)

Eva is also opening Besitos which are small style Beso restaurants in airports.

I loveee Eva!!! Vegas is def. a good idea!!!!

The 80's has returned to the runway this Fall and it's come back in amazing style! Designers such as Marc Jacobs, Dsquare, Thakoon, and Balmain have set an eighties trend to their Fall 2009 collections. Metallic leather, glitter, acid washed jeans, crystal studs, and anything GLAM is making a triumphant mark this season.

I am especially loving the sexy glamour dresses that the one and only, Donatella Versace has come out with this fall. These dresses are definitely perfect for a night out in the town! Marc Jacobs has also come out with a collection that is to die for! His line is all about the "after hours" style. I love anything that has to do with allure and glamour so I am superrr excited that this trend is back this season! Check out all these FAB collections at www.style.com. What is the hottest Rap collabo this year? The answer is Kanye West, Drake, Lil Wayne, and Eminem. I introduce you to "Forever", the new song by the HOTTEST men of rap right now. I'm just asking why didn't this happen sooner??? If you don't know by now Mr. Kanye West is my allllllll time favoriteeeeeeeeeeeee rapper!!! I love love love him! Everything from his fashion sense, producing, and music, is absolutely incredible!!!!! I know, I know I'm a little obsessive but hey I can't help it he's just so FAB. His verse in this song is the sickest but, obviously I'm a little bias, so I will leave it up to you guys. What do you think??? Who's verse is the sickest??????

Aubrey O'day Wants Lindsay Lohans Girlfriend

Looks like there might be a cat fight between Lindsay Lohan and Aubrey O'Day soon, and I must say it will be a damnnn good one! Ha! Aubrey O'Day former member of R&B sensation Danity Kane, has her eyes set for Lindsay's on again off again girlfriend DJ Samantha Ronson. Ms. O'Day told Curve Magazine in an interview that she is deeply infatuated by Ms. Ronson.

She explains "Every time I see her (Ronson) I want to go over and talk to her, but it's like she's going to be like, 'You're that girl that tried to say you're gay everywhere,' and I'm like, No, I promise — get to know me. We'd be perfect together."(O'Day)

Ms. O'Day then goes on to majorly diss Lindsay and Samantha's relationship calling it a joke. "Lindsay and that relationship made it such a joke. It was just, like, on every cover, on every tabloid. Their relationship has been her job for the past year… You just can't live up to that entire Disneyland circus that went on in your relationship."(O'Day)

I swear this girl is outrageous! She doesn't care who's reading she will speak her mind. But, I'm not gonna lie, I half ass want to see this happen! It will be very interesting to see Lindsay Lohans reaction because we all know that if this actually went down, it will not go well with her! Who knew that Aubrey O'Day would go the bisexual route?Actually, I take that back, this is Hollywood we are talking about! What do ya'll think about this fiasco???

Blonde vs. Burnette Part II

Kim Kardashian isn't the only one trading in her signature dark locks. The American Idol runner-up Katharine Mcphee debut her new bleach-blonde do' in a cover shoot for her new album Unbroken. The singer told PEOPLE in an interview how her new blonde hair has changed her style:

“The look has affected the way I dress, it’s inspired me to be more adventurous with what I decide to wear. It’s silly that something so simple as changing your hair could have such a big effect. I’m just having fun with it. This is a great time for me to do something different. I’m young — I always try to have a good time.”

To me, a beautiful girl is always beautiful no matter the dye change. But I'm just partial to the dark hair. I think if she's looking for a more edged out appeal, however, the blonde shag suits her. So what do you guys think? Is it a Blonde phenomenon?! First Kim K and now Katharine! Which star do you think will be taking the plunge next?

Here we have the lovely Khloe Kardashian out promoting her new show Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami in her sheer-sleeved black Alexander Wang mini-dress. But what's this?! Seems like Rihanna shared the same mindset as she walks about NYC in the same mini-dress but instead of ankle boots she opted for some biker boots. So we're left with two beautiful ladies, putting their own spin on the same dress. Who rocked it better?

Fall Fashion: The Biker Chick

This Fall biker jackets are back in style. Designers such as Alexander Wang, Phi and Roland Mouret have all brought back the biker chick look to their Fall 2009 collections. Some jackets are covered in zippers while others are cropped to a shrunken fit, and embellished. Either way these jackets are looking HOT! I personally love the zipper effect that has evolved in fashion this season. Model Chanel Iman looks amazing in the Phi zippered jacket for Fall! It's very versatile and unique! These jackets can go great with printed or solid leggings, mini dresses, and regular or skinny jeans. However, be careful about zippered jackets if you are self conscious about your upper body because the zippers will put focus on your top half. With that said, If you wanna get in touch with your inner "bad ass" you definitely need to grab one of these jackets for the fall ASAP!

Angel in Disguise

August 25, 2009 marks the 8th year anniversary of singer/actress Aaliyah Dana Haughtons death. I still can't believe such an amazing talent is gone. Aaliyah was so effortlessly beautiful and talented. She truly had the most amazing angelic voice. I remember falling in love with her music when I was in middle school.After hearing her singles "Try Again", "We Need A Resolution" and watching reruns of her MTV Diary, I could not help but become a fan of such a talented female. Her tragic death left the whole world shocked and saddened, however her legacy will live on FOREVER. There is no doubt in my mind that Aaliyah was one of the most talented R&B starlets of the 2oth century. On that note I leave you with one of Aaliyah's greatest hits "We Need A Resolution".

Rachel Zoe Project Season 2 Tonight!

The wait is over! Our favorite Hollywood stylist is back on Bravo for a second season of The Rachel Zoe Project. This season will feature cameo's from famous designers such as Giorgio Armani, John Galliano, Christian Lacroix, Karl Lagerfeld, Giambattista Valli, Diane Von Furstenberg and Matthew Williamson. Check out the hilarious drama between Brad and Taylor, Rachel's assistants, and see if Taylor can still handle working with Brad. I'm sure that there will never be a dull minute this season! The drama starts tonight at 10/9c. Let me know what you think.

Heidi Montag's Amazing Miss Universe Performance.............SIKE

WOW, all I can say is that this performance is definitely a .........HOT MESS! Heidi Montag, from the MTV reality show The Hills performed her new single "Body Language" at the Miss Universe Pageant on Sunday evening. Apparently Heidi was trying to channel Britney Spears performance from the 2002 VMAS, unfortunately she channeled Britney's comeback performance from 2 years ago instead. I really do feel bad for her because I know that the media is going to have a field day with this one! I will give Heidi an A for effort because I know it's not easy performing in front of millions of people. However, Heidi you need to stick to your day job......whatever that is.

Sienna not only knows how to recycle, but she does a good job recycling her accessories, mixing them up with various outfits. While out and about in NYC she keeps her accessories consistent with a burgundy Saffiano leather-and-nylon Prada bag and and clear -rimmed, circular shades.

You can expect nothing less than pure individuality when it comes to Sienna Miller. So effortlessly stylish her quirky trends leave her being dubbed "The innovator" by PEOPLE magazine. It might be a surprise though that much of her style is left an after-thought. When ask by PEOPLE "Where did you get the idea to lace up your sandals over your jeans?" for example, Miller simply replied "Don't know—decided to do it running out the house." The mark of a true fashionista is someone that sets trends without even meaning to. Her style is so organic and comes from within. Love it!

Take it back to the 90's

Love slow jams? Then you'll love Donnell Jones. Who doesn't love a classic? He's been around since the early 90's, first signing with Laface Records in 1996. Lately all I've been listening to is his Where I Wanna Be album. It was released in 1999, the year where he really established himself as an R&B artist. This album alone sold one million copies! I can definitely see why. The album is very well put together, the songs flow beautifully and shows off his soulful vocal style. It tells the perfect story of love,loss, and pain which we can all relate to. It's perfect for listening to relax or snuggling up with your boo. Such a heartfelt album is a must and if you're going to listen to Donnell you need to listen to Where I Wanna Be.
