Street Fashion

Joyful and I are proud to introduce you to our long awaited 'Street Fashion' segment.
We had a few technical difficulties but here it is!
In this segment we feature anyone we come across, at anytime, that exudes style and personality and place their photo for you guys to see!
For our first post on this we scoured our city of Seattle for some fashionistas and at first we were disappointed because for some reason nobody seemed to care how they looked that day. I mean Seattle come on!! Lol but with a little more effort we bumped into a couple of people:

This couple was too cute! They had such a relaxed summer style and matched accordingly.
Joyful loved the girl's color scheme with the white flowy top with red flats and a turquoise canvas bag. They definitely showed that less is more and accomplished that effortless summer style.

This next girl we found in our local Seattle Sephora! We loved her dressy but comfortable outfit. And not to mention great minds think alike because we happened to have the same earrings. So fate! I love how she accessorized and added her own personal style to her rolled up jeans and black tee. I'm so into scarves and gladiators (which are big this season!!!) which she's rockin.

This girl was sooo sweet! She just came here from Germany! We love her outfit! She shows once again how a litlle accessory such as shoes can spice up a simple outfit. She's wearing a simple grey tank with black leggings and purple anke boots.Once again less is more.

And then there's Gina!! Joyful's sister! Oh my goodness she is so so so fashionable! Never a hair out of place and always showstopping! We love her stilettos which are a nude animal print which is so in right now. Yellow skinny jeans with a matching waist-cinching belt and a black bag to complete the ensemble.
We just love her! I swear you need to see her wardrobe!
Here's our very own Joyful!! So cute with her embellished flats and simple black dress. Perfect for summer. She accessorized with a turquoise necklace and a cognac colored shoulder bag and big rimmed shades! Love it, love her!!!

And here's me! I wanna share a couple of pics with you guys. I went out for my one year anniversary with my bf. I chose a muti-colored tube dress with croc-print, t-strap pumps and only simply accessorized with a 3 tiered necklace and black and gold ring. You never want to go over board with accessories!
Anyways we hoped you enjoyed it! We'd love to see you! If you feel you have that look feel free to send us your pics at our e-mail eternallyfixatedblog@hotmail.com and we'll post them on our next 'Street Fashion' segment! See how you compare with Seattle! Don't forget to check all our other posts located down below or click older posts!!

The Perfect Fragrance

Even though this fragrance has been out for a while, I just recently had a chance to preview Fancy by Jessica Simpson, and I LOVEDD it. Jessica Simpsons signature fragrance is to DIE for. Her perfume is a mixture of warm vanilla scents(which I LOVE), topped with floral elements. I was a little surprised that it smelt so good because usually when celebrities branch out to other ventures it's not so good lol .Well ,Jessica Simpson def. knows what shes doing! This is the perfect fragrance for the fall. Trust me ladies your man will loveee this on you!!! Check out Jessica's fragence line at all Macys stores or www.macys.com.

Have times really changed?

We all will never forget the times of slavery, the civil war movement, or even when Obama became our first black president. But despite that most recent triumph added to our American history, I have to ask:
 Have times really changed?
Have we really come so much further?
Beyond prejudice and racism?

And of course I bet you're wondering what does that have to do with fashion? With those questions in mind we turn to the world of fashion and runway shows. It is fashion that still discriminates. The woes of the fashion industry have long been the frequent number of paper thin models to the ratio, or lack there-of even a ratio, of black models on the runway. What am I talking about? In an article by Thomson Reuters, he has said that many fashion observers have agreed that while the numbers have improved there's still too little use of black models or any diversity period. In NYC's Fashion Week where shows feature 12-25 models some used just one while others didn't use any at all.  So who's to blame? The modeling agencies who employ the models? Or the designers that pick and book them? In an essay written by ex-model turned actress; Joy Bryant wrote about her shocking first hand experience for the Huffington Post. In this excerpt it might be concluded that the designers are the cause:
 [Pictured: Joy Bryant]
"I finally get to the room, where the VERY famous designer is sitting at a long table with a few associates. I say hello, hand my portfolio over, and proceed to "walk" (please reference "Top Model"). I do so and then the VERY famous designer says to me, with a smile of course, "Joy, you are soooo beautiful, but I'm not using black girls this season." (Insert sound of record scratching here). Yeah, he actually said that to my 'beautiful' face. He's lucky he didn't get a black eye."

But not all designers have that backward form of thinking, widely known Diane Von Furstenberg has shown an increase in her number of ethnic/black models. Tim Gunn, creative director at Liz Claiborne and co-host of Bravo television's "Project Runway," is quoted in Reuters saying that he would like to see "more diversity among fashion designers. With more support for designers of color, that can help this issue as well." Regardless some step taken is better than none at all. What are your thoughts?

Grey is the new black!

With Fall coming up everyone's all about incorporating a little more color into your daily wardrobe to offset that dreary weather. While I'm all for spicing up your wardrobe, we can't forget the basics. This season it's all about grey. I love love looove grey! It's everywhere. I'll never forget when I went to a barbecue this past weekend and my friend and her boyfriend as well as me and my bf all showed up rocking grey! (Hey great minds think alike.) It's such a different switch from that basic black which has become a staple in everyone's wardrobe. But why not put a new spin on and an old classic? Perfect for summer and fall, Grey is just the right amount of neutral to take over black but light enough to compromise with the brightening affect that's taking over this fall.
